Arrest – Assault 2nd Degree – Domestic Violence – HPD

Earlier today (5/08/2018), Henderson City Police responded to Methodist Hospital regarding an alleged assault. HPD Public Information Officer Jennifer Richmond says a woman reported that 30-year old Deandra Bryant of the Downtown Motel had choked her because she was ignoring him. The victim reported that Bryant choked her to the point that she believed she would pass out. The unnamed victim told authorities that when she got away from him and was catching her breath, she turned to see Bryant pointing a black handgun at her. The victim stated that he then threatened to kill her if she called the police. The woman left the motel and went to the hospital. Officer Richmond says the victim had been choked to the point that the blood vessels burst in her eyes and she had severe neck pain. Officers located Deandra Bryant at the Downton Motel where he was arrested for Assault 2nd Degree – Domestic Violence. Bryant was lodged at the Henderson County Detention Center.
