THE PROPRIETERS OF DOWNTOWN HENDERSON’S ABBA MUSIC STORE ARE ALWAYS

GLAD TO SEE CUSTOMERS COME THROUGH THEIR DOORS. BUT THEY WEREN’T

AS THRILLED MONDAY WHEN A WAYWARD VEHICLE COME CRASHING THROUGH

THEIR STORE FRONT. ACCORDING TO HENDERSON POLICE AND FIRE CREWS A FOUR

DOOR PASSENGER CAR WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE ON MAIN STREET

BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND STREETS AROUND TWO PM WHEN THE DRIVER

APPARENTLY KEPT PRESSING ON THE GAS INSTEAD OF HITTING THE BRAKE. THE

WHITE PASSENGER CAR THEN STRUCK A PASSING HONDA SUV WHICH SPUN THE CAR

BACKWARDS INTO THE ABBA’S MUSIC STORE. THE STORE’S GLASS DOOR AND RIGHT

SIDE DISPLAY WINDOW WERE SHATTERED AND SOME OF THE BRICK FACADE WAS

DAMAGED EXPOSING THE MESKER STEEL SUPPORT BEAM. HENDERSON BUILDING

CODES INSPECTORS DECLARED THE BUILDING STRUCTURALLY SOUND. SEVERAL

PEAVY SPEAKERS AND OTHER MUSICAL EQUIPMENT DID NOT FARE AS WELL.

THE TWO DRIVERS REFUSED MEDICAL TREATMENT AT THE SCENE.

NOONE INSIDE THE STORE WAS HURT.

MAIN STREET WAS COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN FOR ABOUT A HOUR AS CREWS

CLEARED THE SCENE.
