The Henderson Breakfast Lions Club will not be using a barge on the river for their Tri-Fest fireworks show on Friday night but will instead use the Henderson Riverfront amphitheater for their firing zone according to City of Henderson Public Information Officer Donna Stinnett.

The firing zone will require a 300-foot safety area. The City of Henderson Public Works Department will close both the Second and Third Street boat ramps from 8 a.m. Friday and the area will remain closed until the fireworks show is completed on Friday night. (Rain date for fireworks show is Saturday night, according to Tri-Fest organizers.)

Sunset Park, Audubon Mill Park, Riverfront Water Park and Water Street will be open for viewing of fireworks. No admittance to the lower part of the riverfront or boat ramps will be allowed and the Henderson Police Department will be enforcing this need in the interest of public safety.
