City of Henderson Identifys Career Support Resources

HENDERSON, Ky. – With the closure of the local office of Kentucky Career Center at Second and Water streets, local citizens might like to know what resources are available to help with filing new unemployment insurance claims or reopening existing claims.
To file a claim or to reopen an existing claim on-line, visit kcc.ky.gov.
For those without access to a personal computer or internet service, the Henderson County Public Library’s computer lab is open from 9 a.m. to 7:50 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. on Fridays and 1:30 p.m. to 4:50 p.m. on Sundays. The library offers free and open wifi service throughout the building at all times.
To file a claim by telephone, call (502) 875-0442. General support for unemployment insurance is available by calling (502) 564-2900.
The Housing Authority of Henderson, located at 111 S. Adams St., has posted the Unemployment Insurance contact information at their office and inside of the assistance kiosk located in the front lobby. The Housing Authority also is installing an additional telephone line to help serve citizens who need to contact the Kentucky Career Center.
The Housing Authority of Henderson hours are 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Local officials are still working on the possibility of offering monthly visits at a yet-to-be-determined Henderson location with a field representative from the Owensboro office of Kentucky Career Center.
The Owensboro office is located at 3108 Fairview Drive. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The telephone number is (270) 687-7297. Services offered at the Owensboro office include job seeker, unemployment insurance, training and employer.
Henderson Community College, 2660 S. Green St., Henderson, hosts several service providers.
— Veterans Affairs Coordinator Johnny Allen will be available the second Tuesday of each month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the ADM Administration Building Conference Room 206 starting on March 14.
— Vocational Rehabilitation services are normally hosted in ADM 107 but are temporarily located in A&S Arts and Sciences Building room 101, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
— A Kentucky Career Center career counselor is onsite at HCC one day per week; contact GRADD at 270-926-4433 for day and time information. Career services may also be accessed online at kcc.ky.gov.
