“Murders and Mysteries” Tour of Henderson’s Oldest Cemetery

Ever wonder, if gravestones could talk, what would they say?

On Saturday, September 16, you will have the opportunity to hear stories about murders mysteries based on the lives of some very interesting residents of Henderson’s oldest cemetery.

The seventh annual Fernwood Cemetery tours will begin at 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Cemetery, Parks and Recreation Office at 940 Madison Street. The tours are easy to walk and will last approximately one hour.

Tickets for the tours are available at the Depot Community Room, 101 N. Water Street Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5.00 for students. Proceeds benefit the Monument Restoration Fund. There are a limited number of spots available, so be sure to purchase your tickets early.

As the City of Henderson’s oldest cemetery, Fernwood is steeped in history and tradition. This year’s tour will explore the dark side of life in Henderson, focusing on murders, solved and unsolved, and other strange deaths.

The tour is sponsored by the Depot Community Room, in partnership with the Henderson Parks and Recreation Department.
