HENDERSON, Ky. — A ceremony of retirement for unserviceable flags is set for Flag Day, Wednesday, June 14, at American Legion Post 40 in Henderson.
The ceremony starts at 6 p.m.
This is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to bring unserviceable flags to submit to the Legion officers. All Scouts attending should wear Class A uniforms.
One flag will be used in the ceremony and all other unserviceable flags will be properly incinerated afterwards.
American Legion Post 40 is located at 1709 Madison St. in Henderson.
The City of Henderson also has a box where unserviceable flags can be deposited for retirement in future ceremonies. The box was donated last year by two local citizens, Jeremy Lear and Cory Bridges.
The box is located in front of the Henderson Municipal Center at 222 First St. in downtown Henderson.
