Henderson County Coroner Bruce Farmer says more tests are being run today in Madisonville on the body of an Evansville man found face down in an grassy area Saturday morning on an access road near Ellis Park. An autopsy was performed Sunday at the state medical examiner’s office in Madisonville on the victim identified as 23-year old Donald Xavier Campbell Freels of Evansville. A preliminary cause of death has not yet been released. Farmer says foul play is suspected. The investigation is on-going by the Henderson County Sheriff’s office and Henderson County Coroner’s
office. Authorities say there is no connection between this incident and a shooting Friday afternoon that claimed the life of a 21-year old Illinois man at the Lawndale Apartments. Anyone having any information is urged to contact Detective Rick Lawrence at the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office at 270-826-2713 or call 9-1-1. You can also call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 831-1111. Callers may remain anonymous.
