HENDERSON, KY, August 5, 2019– A meeting to discuss goals for Henderson County’s Complete Count Committee for the 2020 Census will take place Thursday, Aug. 8.

The meeting location is the conference room in the Peabody Building adjacent to the Henderson City-County Planning Commission. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m., and anyone interested in the Census project is welcome to attend.

“A good count and the highest count possible is a benefit to our City and County,” said Mayor Steve Austin.

The Census count can impact a community’s share of federal money, money for roads and highways, water and sewer lines, broadband and other services.

It can also impact economic development and the resulting property tax potential as companies looking to relocate use Census figures as a part of their decision-making process.

One of the main goals for the Complete Count Committee to identify advocates who can help publicize the importance of completing the forms and encourage all segments of the community to support a full and accurate Census count.
