UPDT – HPD Makes Second Arrest In Connection With Recent Robbery

UPDATE: Henderson City Police say a second 17-year old juvenile has been charged in connection with the robbery of the Kangaroo Convenience Store on Garden Mile Road.


On August 1st members of the Henderson Police Department responded to 197 North Garden Mile Road, the Kangaroo Gas Station, in reference to an armed robbery.
While the store clerk was sweeping, two white males approached him from behind. Both white males were armed with handguns. One armed male forced the clerk to the ground and placed a handgun to the back of his head. The other male started to place items into a bag. The clerk’s hands and feet were eventually tied up and he was placed on his stomach. Both males took various items and then fled the store.
On 08-02-2018 Detectives were able to obtain surveillance footage at Walmart less than thirty minutes before the robbery occurred at the Kangaroo. In the video an individual enters the store wearing the exact same outfit as one of the individuals involved in the robbery. Detectives were able to get a positive identification of the suspect. On 08-03-2018 Detectives spoke with the 17 year old suspect, but he denied any involvement in the robbery. During a search of the 17 year old’s bedroom, Detectives located both bags used in the robbery, the clothes the 17 year old was wearing, and most of the stolen merchandise. A 17 year old male was lodged at McCracken County Juvenile Detention Center for Robbery 1st Degree. Anyone with information on the other suspect should contact Det.
