HENDERSON, KY, July 12, 2018– Muralist Leah Tumerman has begun painting a large mural on the wall of a private building in downtown Henderson.
Tumerman projected her design on the wall after dark on Wednesday, July 11, to create an outline and will now begin painting. The mural is located on the Hilliard Lyons building in downtown Henderson located at the corner of Second and Elm streets adjacent to The Perch pocket park.
Tumerman has said she expects it to take about three weeks to complete the mural. She was assisted by two local high school students, a middle school student and a graphic designer on Wednesday for the stenciling of the wall. Those assistants and others will continue to work with her through the completion of the project.
