The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to restrict traffic to one lane on the KY 56 Green River Bridge near Sebree starting Tuesday, January 8, 2019.

This work zone lane restriction on the KY 56 Green River Bridge at the Webster-McLean County Line just east of the I-69/KY 56 Sebree Exit 134 Interchange is to allow deck work on the bridge.

Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by an automated signal.

Deck work on the bridge is expected to take about 2 weeks to complete, weather permitting.

Motorists should be alert for slowing and stopped traffic as they approach the bridge work zone between Sebree and Beech Grove. Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

The KY 56 Green River Bridge, also known as the Corporal James B. Gresham Community Bridge, opened to traffic in 1969. The plate girder structure is along KY 56/Sebree-Beech Grove Road at the Webster-McLean County line just east of the Interstate 69/KY 56 Exit 134 Sebree Interchange. The bridge is at KY 56 Webster County mile point 14.671 and McLean County mile point 0.0.

The bridge is at Green River navigation mile point 43.6.

Approximately 2,000 vehicles cross the KY 56 Green River Bridge at Sebree on an average day.
