Water Pressure Issues on South Main Street

Water Pressure Issues on South Main Street

August 7th, 2017

In the last week, Henderson has experienced several water main breaks along South Main Street. Boil water advisories could be issued at times while we repair the water main breaks.

The cause of the breaks is an increase in water pressure to compensate for maintenance at the College Tank, near Henderson Community College. The College Tank was removed from service on August 2, 2017, and will be out of service for approximately four months.

The areas experiencing pressure problems are:

South Main Street from 1660 South Main to Drury Lane
Hackberry Street
Bruce Street
Marshall Drive.

Customers might experience pressure differences at times or may experience total water loss. We are working to stabilize the water pressure in the affected area to reduce the stress on the water main.

Please call HWU at (270) 826-2824 if you notice extremely low water pressure or observe a possible water leak in your area.
