CHARLES LINN CRABTREE, III, 80, OF HENDERSON DIED THURSDAY AT HIS HOME.
HE WAS A 1957 GRADUATE OF HENDERSON CITY HIGH SCHOOL AND A 1976 GRADUATE OF ISUE,
NOW USI. HE SERVED IN FOUR BRANCHES OF THE MILITARY – THE AIR FORCE, NAVY, ARMY NATIONAL GUARD
AND ARMY RESERVES. HE WAS A VIETNAM WAR VETERAN, HAVING WORKED FOR ARMED FORCES RADIO
ON THE USS HANCOCK. HE LATER WORKED AT WHAYNE SUPPLY COMPANY FOR 27 YEARS.
HE CO-CREATED THE CITY HIGH ALUMNI ASSOCIATION AND WAS A MEMBER OF THE AMERICAN LEGION,
THE WAR MEMORIAL FOUNDATION, AND SOUTH MIDDLE SCHOOL’S VETERANS DAY PROGRAM COMMITTEE.
A MEMBER OF ST. PAUL’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH, HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY A SISTER, CAROL.
