Discover Andrew Carnegie’s Link to Henderson, Ky at the Friends of the Library’s Annual Meeting

Henderson, Ky. The Friends of the Henderson County Public Library invite the public to attend their annual meeting Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Henderson, Ky.
Lorie Maltby, Friend of the Library and Professor at Henderson Community College, will be presenting “Henderson County Public Library: A Community Endeavor.” Maltby was originally planning on a different topic for the evening when she discovered the rich history that surrounds Andrew Carnegie’s library legacy. “When I began my research on the history of our library, I discovered all of this background on the Carnegie library program and what he did for libraries across the nation.” Henderson County Public Library, which turned 115 on August 1st, is one of only a few remaining Carnegie-funded libraries in the United States which is still in use as a library.
There will be a Friends of the Library meeting prior to the presentation at 6:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.
