Volunteers sought for third-annual halloween extravaganza


HENDERSON, KY, Oct. 14, 2019 – Three community churches, Audubon Kids Zone and the

John J. Kennedy Community Center/City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department

are teaming up again for Community Trunk or Treat Halloween Extravaganza.

Participating churches are Greater Norris Chapel Baptist Church, Seventh Street Baptist Church

and New Race Creek Baptist Church.

This year’s event will be held on Sunday, Oct. 27, starting at 2:30 p.m.

The route will be the same, starting at the Audubon Kids Zone on the corner of Letcher and Powell

streets and ending at the John F. Kennedy Community Center at 515 Alvasia St.

There will be lots of candy and fun, and a hotdog and beverage await at the end of the trail.

Haunted school buses will run from the JFK back to AKZ every 15 minutes for those who park at AKZ.

This safe event is open to any and everyone of all ages.

Last year more than 1,500 participants attended this event.
