Commission approves solar energy zoning, expansion of free parking


HENDERSON, Ky. – The City of Henderson Board of Commissioners finalized two ordinances at a special-called meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
Commissioners finalized an ordinance regulating solar energy systems in the City. The Henderson City-County Planning Commission approved the regulations at its November meeting.
They also finalized an ordinance that will expand the time period for free parking in the Central Business District to three hours on a trial basis that will last from Dec. 1, 2019, to Feb. 29, 2020.
They also passed first reading of an ordinance adding an administrative department for Emergency Communications and amended the employee manual to exempt the emergency communications director position from Civil Service
Following the meeting there was a work session on tax increment financing.
There is no meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 26. The next regular meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10. Both take place in the third-floor Assembly Room at the Henderson Municipal Center.
