The cause of a deadly house fire on North Elm St. behind McDonalds has been ruled accidental and unintentional according to
Henderson city fire investigator Capt. Brad Mattingly. The blaze earlier this fall claimed the life of 63-year-old Randy Hallmark and left another person injured.
Meanwhile, the cause of the recent early morning fire at the Simple Rewards Inn on Washington Street also has been ruled accidental and unintentional.
Capt. Mattingly says the investigation has determined that major blaze apparently started in a rear storage area and quickly spread to the second story and attic.
About 20 people were displaced by the fire. No injuries were reported.
