DIED FRIDAY, MARCH 20, 2020 AT METHODIST HEALTH. A 1953 GRADUATE OF CORYDON HIGH SCHOOL, HE WAS A U.S. ARMY VETERAN. HE GRADUATED FROM DELTA STATE UNIVERSITY, WHERE HE RECEIVED A BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN EDUCATION. HE ALSO EARNED A MASTERS DEGREE IN EDUCATION AND RANK I FROM WESTERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY. HE WAS A MATH TEACHER AT HENDERSON COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL AND HENDERSON COMMUNITY COLLEGE. A KENTUCKY COLONEL, HE RECEIVED THE HENDERSON COMMUNITY COLLEGE PRESIDENT’S AWARD IN 1996 AND WAS INDUCTED INTO THE HENDERSON COUNTY SPORTS HALL OF FAME IN 2002. HE WAS A LONGTIME MEMBER OF HOLY NAME OF JESUS CATHOLIC CHURCH. HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY A SISTER, DOTTIE LILES DIXON.

HE GRADUATED FROM HOLY NAME HIGH SCHOOL AND RECEIVED HIS BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE FROM AUSTIN PEAY UNIVERSITY AND HIS MASTERS DEGREE IN VOCATIONAL EDUCATION ADMINISTRATION, FROM MURRAY STATE UNIVERSITY. HE SERVED AS SAFETY SERVICE DIRECTOR FOR THE AMERICAN RED CROSS IN EVANSVILLE. HE THEN WORKED FOR 33 YEARS AT THE EARLE C. CLEMENTS JOB CORPS IN MORGANFIELD, WHERE HE SERVED AS VOCATIONAL TRAINING MANAGER. AFTER RETIREMENT, HE WORKED AT THE CHANEY HOUSE. HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY A BROTHER, HERMAN BROWN AND BY 2 SISTERS, MARY CATHERINE BROWN CRAWFORD AND DOROTHY ANN BROWN WATHEN.
