OWENSBORO, Ky. (June 2, 2020)—Just after 11 pm, a Kentucky State Police trooper traveling on West 4th Street observed a Buick Century driven by a person with an active warrant. When the vehicle turned onto Texas Avenue, the trooper attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver accelerated in an attempt to flee; traveling various streets including Ebach, Fifth and Triplett. When the vehicle turned onto Breckenridge Street, an assisting trooper performed a legal intervention (pit maneuver) with his cruiser causing the fleeing car to spin sideways to a stop. The driver was taken into custody without incident.
The driver was identified as Dillon R. Lindsey, 21 of Owensboro. He was transported to the Daviess County Detention Center in Owensboro where he is lodged and charged with the following offenses:
- Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree-Police Officer
- Reckless Driving
- Fleeing/Evading 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle)
- Operating Under the Influence, 1st Offense
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Criminal Mischief, 1st Degree
His passenger, William E. Allen, 23 of Owensboro was also arrested and charged with:
- Fleeing/ Evading Police, 1st Degree
