JAMES GORDON “JIM” BANTLY             79       OF HENDERSON

DIED SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2020 AT ST. THOMAS WEST HOSPITAL IN NASHVILLE.  A 1959 GRADUATE OF HENDERSON CITY HIGH SCHOOL, HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL GUARD, HAVING BEEN CALLED TO DUTY DURING THE BERLIN CRISIS IN 1961.  HE ACHIEVED THE RANK OF SERGEANT AND PARTICIPATED IN SENATOR RICHARD LUGAR’S PROGRAM FOR VETERANS OF AMERICA AND HIS AUDIOLOGY OF HIS EXPERIENCE IS RECORDED IN THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS IN WASHINGTON, D.C.  HE RETIRED FROM SITEX CORPORATION AS VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES AFTER 38 YEARS OF SERVICE.   HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY A BROTHER, HENRY “BUSTER” BANTLY.

HIS WIFE OF 25 YEARS      SHELIA THERIOT BANTLY

2 DAUGHTERS         BETH WEST OF NASHVILLE AND

                                     JENNIE PEAK OF PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FLORIDA

4 GRANDCHILDREN AND 1 NIECE

 

MEMORIAL SERVICES WILL BE 5 PM MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2020 AT RUDY ROWLAND FUNERAL HOME

DIED SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2020 AT THE LUCY SMITH KING CARE CENTER.  A MEMBER OF CALVARY MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, SHE WAS A SAFETY DIRECTOR FOR JEFFRIES TRUCKING COMPANY FOR MANY YEARS.  SHE ALSO WORKED FOR SMITH TAX AND ACCOUNTING SERVICES.  SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY 2 SISTERS, LORENE A. ROYSTER AND EMALENE A. SPAULDING.

HER HUSBAND OF 45 YEARS       BOB CLARK

1 STEPDAUGHTER              CATHY BARROW OF TROY, OHIO

1 COUSIN, 1 NIECE AND 1 GREAT NIECE

 

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE 1 PM WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2020 AT RUDY ROWLAND FUNERAL HOME

BURIAL WILL BE IN SHADY GROVE CEMETERY IN POOLE

DIED SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2020 AT HER HOME.  SHE WORKED FOR 15 YEARS AS A SALES ASSOCIATE AT WAL-MART.  A MEMBER OF ZION BAPTIST CHURCH, SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER HUSBAND, MILTON CECIL WHITE WHO DIED IN 1993; BY 2 CHILDREN, BARBARA ELAINE NICHOLS AND EDWARD CECIL WHITE AND BY 3 SISTERS, ELLEN SUE POWELL, FRANCES MARIE KELLEN AND DELMA LORENE MAXBERRY.

 

SURVIVORS INCLUDE:

1 DAUGHTER           DEBBIE HOLLOWELL OF HENDERSON

1 SON            DONALD R. WHITE OF GREENVILLE, KENTUCKY

10 GRANDCHILDREN, 17 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AND 9 GREAT-GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AS WELL AS SEVERAL STEP GRANDCHILDREN, STEP GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, STEP GREAT-GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, NIECES AND NEPHEWS

 

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE 2 PM TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2020 AT ZION BAPTIST CHURCH

THE REVEREND JEFF COURSEY WILL OFFICIATE

BURIAL WILL BE IN ROSELAWN MEMORIAL GARDENS

FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM 11 AM TO SERVICE TIME TUESDAY AT THE CHURCH

TOWNSEND FUNERAL HOME IN DIXON IS IN CHARGE OF THE ARRANGEMENTS
