HENDERSON, KY (September 3, 2020) – The Downtown Henderson Partnership is excited to announce
an old-fashioned movie-going option is coming to downtown Henderson. Saturday evening, September
19, the Field & Main employee parking lot on North Main Street is being transformed into a drive-in
movie theater showing a local favorite, A League of Their Own.
“Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, fundraising and community events have been negatively impacted not
only in our downtown but across the country. Organizations like ours are looking for innovative ways to
provide fun yet safe ways for communities to gather,” stated Downtown Henderson Partnership
Executive Director Lindsay Locasto.
The movie will be displayed on a 22-foot by 40-foot screen with sound transmitted through an FM radio
system.
Please follow CDC and state social distancing guidelines. Face masks are encouraged. Please be
courteous to keep a six-foot distance between you and other families enjoying the film.
The parking lot will open at 6:15 with the movie beginning at approximately 7:30. Food concessions will
be available.
The Drive-In is car traffic only, no walk-up traffic. The cost for the event is $20 per vehicle. A limited
number of tickets are available and must be purchased in advance at DHP’s website
(downtownhenderson.org). Lawn chairs permitted.
The Downtown Drive-In is sponsored by Field & Main Bank, with additional support provided by the
Henderson Tourist Commission and Rotary Club of Henderson.
