Henderson County High School’s football team recently played a home game against Hardin County on Friday, September 18th and received notification that a member of the Hardin County High School’s football team has tested positive for COVID-19.

Henderson County Schools is working directly with the Green River District Health Department to provide the necessary information to assist with contact tracing.  HCS players who were considered to be in close contact with the Hardin County player will be placed on quarantine at the recommendation of the Green River District Health Department.

“Our players, coaches, and staff have done an excellent job of following safety guidelines and protocols. Players considered close contact will be placed under quarantine as a safety precaution and ask all of our players to self-monitor and continue following all safety protocols.  This is an unfortunate, yet temporary situation and we wish the player from Hardin County a  quick and healthy recovery. We appreciate the partnership and assistance from the Green River District Health Department” noted Bob Lawson, Transitional District Director for Henderson County Schools.

The next HCHS football game scheduled for Friday, September 25th at Madisonville North Hopkins has been canceled out of an abundance of caution.

Our top priority is the safety of our students and staff.
We will continue to follow all COVID-related safety procedures including following all CDC and Green River District Health Department recommendations.
