Due to COVID-19 and social distancing restrictions and for the public’s safety The Henderson County Sheriff’s Department is asking property owners to mail in their 2020 county tax payments, if possible.
In a statement issued today the Sheriff’s department advised residents when mailing in their payment to please include the tax bill or put the bill number on your check. Also, look closely at the due dates to ensure you are paying the correct amount. If you want a receipt returned to you, you’re advised to include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your payment.
If you prefer to pay your taxes in person, The Sheriff’s department says please consider that wait times will be greatly increased. In an attempt to lessen these wait times, have checks completed beforehand, if at all possible.
Those paying taxes in person will be required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
