Henderson Gathering Place Senior Center to Host Auction in November

IMMEDIATE RELEASE| November 6^th|HENDERSON, KY – Henderson Senior Center, also known as The Gathering Place, will be hosting a virtual auction on Thursday, November 19^th from 5P to 7P via Facebook Live and ZOOM. The public event will be co-hosted by Colonial Assisted Living, due to the annual fundraiser Pasta for a Purpose being canceled, the two establishments have joined forces to help raise money for the local non-profit.

“We are grateful for the ongoing relationship that we share with the local senior center and look forward to raising funds by auctioning off generous items donated by our community,” Holly Courtney, Colonial Assisted Living Representative stated. “We couldn’t be more excited for this event, we have had to cancel fundraisers and shut down our local senior center for the safety and well-being of our members, but this event will be a way to interact with our community and raise money for a place that holds a special place in the hearts of many families in Henderson,” Bill Rhodes, The Gathering Place Executive Director stated.

Those that tune-in to watch the event, can expect to bid on the following items: a set of Henderson high school sports season passes, Ellis Park gift certificate, Audubon Park overnight stay in a historic cabin, gift cards from local restaurants & gift shops, wreaths, fine clothing, oil changes, sports memorabilia, and much more! All money raised will go to the local senior center to help offset the cancellation of fundraisers due to the current health pandemic.
