Henderson County Schools to return to-time virtual learning for next two weeks

Henderson County School District Transitional Director Dr. Bob Lawson has announced that all local schools will return to full-time Non-Traditional Learning

(NTI) for the weeks of November 23rd and November 30th. Because a number of staff members are in quarantine the Thelma B. Johnson Early Learning Center

and North Middle Schools are already back on NTI for now. The county’s remaining schools remain will in the Hybrid learning mode through this Friday.

Lawson says this is a proactive move on the part of the local school district. Most schools in the surrounding region have already returned to virtual learning

with some staying in that mode until after the end of the year in light of the ongoing spread of the coronavirus. Dr. Lawson says the School District’s Child Care

Centers will remain open November 23rd and 24th and will be closed for the Thanksgiving break from November 25th through the 27th.

He adds the School District hopes to return to the Hybrid mode of learning the week of December 7th.  An official announcement will be made Wednesday,

December 2nd.
