HPD Investigate Overnight Incidents


It was a busy night for Henderson City Police. Just shortly after one am officers were called to Deaconess Henderson Hospital

where an assault victim was being treated. The victim told officers he had been struck twice in his left arm by an assailant welding a baseball bat.

The assault took place in the area of Julia Street. The unnamed victim stated the incident began in the area of Rankin Avenue and the suspect

followed him to Julia. When the victim returned to the area where he had parked on Rankin Avenue he discovered his vehicle had been stolen.

The vehicle is described as a 2017 Gray Jeep Patriot with Kentucky plates. Anyone having any additional information about the assault or theft

are urged to contact police at 831-1295 or Crimestoppers at 831-1111.

Earlier in the evening police were dispatched to the 500 block of 7th Street in reference to a burglary. The victims told police that two unknown male assailants

forced their way into an apartment while the resident was inside. No injuries were reported. A witness told officers she saw two males fleeing the scene leave in a

dark-colored SUV. The incident remains under investigation. Charges of burglary and criminal mischief are pending in the case. Again anyone with additional
