Deaconess Henderson Hospital Acquires new DA VINCI  SURGICAL SYSTEM

HENDERSON, KY –  Deaconess Henderson Hospital has added a new, fourth-generation da Vinci Xi Surgical System to their Surgical Services department. This robotic surgical system allows surgeons to provide additional options for patients needing a variety of surgical procedures.

Minimally-invasive surgeries performed with the da Vinci often lead to faster recovery times, shorter hospital stays and less pain for patients, as compared to other techniques.

Dr. Amber Koon, General Surgeon, will be utilizing the da Vinci for procedures such as hernia repairs, gallbladder removal, colorectal surgeries, and appendectomies.  Dr. Sarah O’Nan, OB/GYN, is also trained and experienced in the da Vinci, and will be able to perform various gynecological surgeries, such as hysterectomies, using this minimally-invasive system. Within the coming weeks and months, physicians from a variety of specialties will be scheduling patients for procedures utilizing the new robotic surgical system.
