Robert “Buck” Lacer, age 72 of Spottsville, died Friday, March 19, 2021, at Lucy Smith King Hospice Care Center.

He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Reed and was a Quality Control Tech for Alcan.

He was a lifetime member of the original Mt. Cur association in Crossville TN, an avid bow hunter, and was the 1971 Kentucky State Champion for open target bow shooting.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Judy Varble.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Vicki Key Lacer;

Children Penny Jo Phelps and Robert Macklin Lacer;

Siblings, Peggy Christison,

Mary Wendy Sherman,

Darlene Smithhart,

Darrell Lacer and Elden Dwayne Lacer;

Grandchildren, Robert Phillip Phelps and Lillian Katherine Lacer; step-grandchildren Beau Phelps and Macy Phelps and his great-granddaughter Penelope Phelps also survive.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Monday, March 22, 2021, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Reed Kentucky with Father John Ighacho officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery.

The Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson is in charge of the arrangements for Robert “Buck” Lacer.

Larry L. “Stoney” Stone, age 75, of Henderson, Kentucky, died Saturday, March 20, 2021, at his home.

 

Stone attended both Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and Lawndale Baptist Church.  After 30 years of service, he retired from the City of Henderson where he had been in charge of cemeteries and parks.  Upon retirement, Stoney began a private mowing service and assisted at the Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and by four sisters, Evelyn Hayes, Mabel Hoskins, Beulah Dixon, and Lois E. West; and two brothers, Thomas Junior Stone and Luther Stone.

 

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Linda Jo Gastenveld Stone;

Two daughters, Sonya Hammick of Derby, Kentucky, and Stacey Beals of Henderson;

 

Three sisters, Glenna Stone and Frieda Hayes, both of Henderson, and Marian Cooley of Shattuc, Illinois;

 

One brother, Mike McGaha of Henderson, Kentucky;

 

Four grandchildren, Evan Howe, Taylor Howe, Alex Beals, and Nicholas Beals; one great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews survive.

 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.

 

Deacon John Prough and the Reverend Orbley Ramsey will officiate.

 

Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.

 

Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

 

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
