Henderson, KY – Henderson Community College (HCC) is excited to announce the grand opening of our HCC Care Center on April 12, 2020, at 1:30 PM in the Sullivan Technology Center (STC) Courtyard by the lake on HCC’s campus.

 

HCC is committed to transforming the lives of currently enrolled HCC or Skills U students through assistance with meeting basic needs and accessing campus and community resources. That’s why the college wants to open the HCC Care Center – to remove non-academic barriers to college success and promote educational attainment for all students.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO UTILIZE THE HCC CARE CENTER?

  • Any currently enrolled HCC student is welcome to use the HCC Care Center when they are in need of additional resources during their time at HCC. This is not income-based and does not affect a student’s financial aid.

HOW DOES HCC CARE CENTER WORK?

  • Students will begin by checking in at the front desk of the Start Center, 2nd Floor of the Sullivan Technology Center and complete the online intake form here: https://bit.ly/2OY84oH or complete form prior to their visit. An HCC support staff will assist from there.
  • Depending on a student’s household size and the pantry items available, students will receive pre-stocked non-perishable food and personal hygiene items. On and off-campus resources will be available and any concerns discussed for community agency referrals.
  • The HCC Care Center may be used by an HCC student one time per month.

WHAT ARE THE HOURS?

  • Hours of operation are Monday and Tuesday from 9 – 11 AM and on Thursdays from 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM. Emergency situations will be handled on an individual basis.
