Highway closure scheduled for 6 weeks
MADISONVILLE, Ky. (July 9, 2021) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 2 Office notifies the public of a new start date for the road closure on KY 132 in Webster County.Utility issues have pushed the closure of KY 132 to July 12.
The closure is necessary to allow the replacement of a bridge and the repositioning of a curve. The replacement structure is a precast concrete arch.
For this work to be addressed, KY 132 will be closed from mile point 12.2 – 12.4. A marked detour will be in place while this work is performed. KY 857 will also be closed between mile point 0.0 – 2.0 with no signed detour.
Both of these closures will begin Monday, July 12, and are expected to remain closed for 6 weeks while this work is addressed.
Additional improvements include the installation of guardrail and shoulder slope repair.
KYTC ask motorists to be aware of the work zone, expect delays, and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.
The start and duration of work may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseeable delays. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to allow extra time in reaching their destination.
