Henderson, Ky. – The Garden Club of Henderson would like to host a dedication of the reading frog in the Henderson County Public Library Children’s garden on August 5th at 10:00 AM.
The Sculptor of ‘The Frog’ is Beau Smith of Beautiful Frog in Wando, S.C.. The Garden Club committee who developed the plan for the special commission was headed by Ardith Shannon and her members, Iris Gentry, Gail King, Barbara West and Glinda West. They were responsible for originating the idea for a special gift for the new HCPL Children’s Department, settling on sculpture, finding a sculptor and handling the intricate details of getting a very heavy and expensive Frog to Kentucky in the middle of a pandemic.
