Henderson Chief Circuit Judge Karen Wilson has released the following information concerning the appointment of a new Henderson Circuit Court Clerk:
On April 20, 2022, interviews were conducted with the two individuals who passed the Henderson County Circuit Clerk’s examination.
Each person who passed were uniquely qualified and capable of performing the duties of Circuit Clerk.
Mr. Clyde Gregory Sutton has accepted the appointment to serve as Henderson Circuit Court Clerk.
Mr. Sutton is a licensed attorney who most recently served as the Assistant Commonwealth Attorney.
He previously served as Circuit Court Clerk from March 2016 through November 2016.
His public service also includes being managing director for the Henderson County Office of the Department of Public Advocacy
and service on the Henderson City Commission.
Mr. Sutton was administered the oath of the office in a private ceremony on April 21, 2022.
He will begin his official duties on April 22, 2022. Mr. Sutton can be reached at the Clerk’s Office at 270-826-2405.
Sutton succeeds former Circuit Court Clerk Herb McKee Junior who recently resigned as Clerk of the Henderson Circuit Court,
a post he has held for the past six years.
