HPD - Three Charged in Connection with Recent Robbery and Shootings

On 04/28/2022 members of the Henderson Police Department responded to 771 Lakeview Drive in reference to an armed robbery.  The victim reported three males wearing red hoodies robbed him and stole his vehicle.  Approximately an hour later, the victim was able to ping his phone in Horseshoe Bend in Henderson.  Officers found the victim’s 2009 Chevy Cobalt.  The stolen vehicle had multiple gunshots holes and was wrecked.  Detectives located several 9mm shell casings in the area.  Detectives developed Raymond Wes Clement as a suspect.  While surveillance was being conducted on Clement’s residence and vehicle, three males left his residence.  When officers tried to stop the three males, a foot pursuit started.  One of the males, Lamont Ridley Jr. followed Officer’s orders and was taken into custody.  Raymond Wes Clement and a 17-year-old male ran on foot but were caught shortly after.  Detectives executed search warrants at 2820 Sunset Lane, and on the truck Raymond Wes Clement’s had been driving.  Several red hoodies were located in the residence.  A sawed-off shotgun and stolen property belonging to the victim were found in the truck.  Detectives discovered two handguns and a ski mask hidden under a mobile home in the area that were put there by two of the subjects.  Detectives also located a handgun, red hoodie, and a bag containing a red hoodie in the area where the 17-year-old male and Raymond Wes Clement’s ran.   Detectives interviewed the three males and charged each of them with Robbery 1st Degree.  Wes was also charged with Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon and Possession of Handgun by Convicted Felon.

While interviewing the three suspects, it was discovered Raymond Wes Clement’s was recently involved in two shootings in Henderson in the past week.  On 04/23/2022 members of the Henderson Police Department responded to the 1000 block of Stewart Avenue in reference to a residence being shot numerous times. Raymond Wes Clement’s has been charged with Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree and Possession of Handgun by Convicted Felon in reference to this case.

On 04/25/2022 members of the Henderson Police Department responded to the 900 block of Clay Street in reference to shots fired.  Officer located several shell casings and an apartment that had been shot.   Raymond Wes Clement’s has been charged with Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree in reference to this case.

Henderson Police would like to thank the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with sending a K9 to assist in recovering evidence.
