Henderson, KY, May 11, 2022 – The Henderson County Family YMCA Board of Directors has selected Jason Beasley as their next Chief Executive Officer. This culminates a 5-month search process that was led by Board President, Tore Stuen and the local Search Committee comprised of Henderson County Family YMCA Board members. The search was assisted by the YMCA of the USA CEO Search staff team.

Jason comes to Henderson from Mobile, AL where he has served as the District Vice President of Operations. Jason has over 27 years of YMCA leadership. Jason will replace retiring CEO, Sheldon Booze, who served the YMCA movement for over 40 years and served 26 years as the Henderson County YMCA CEO.

“Our search was able to attract over 35 well-qualified candidates from across the country, but Jason was our unanimous choice. Jason brings a unique blend of YMCA experience coupled with honesty and a sense of teamwork,” says Board President Tore Stuen. “His energy was felt by the staff and volunteers that had the opportunity to spend time with him. He will bring a passion for Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.”

Jason is a graduate of the University of Alabama where he studied Business Administration and Marketing. His wife, Sara of 8 years, is a graduate of Samford University and she currently works as the office manager for a Neurological Clinic in Fairhope, AL.

Over his career, Jason has had the pleasure of serving 4 different YMCA associations across Alabama and 1 in Louisiana. Each of these unique experiences has helped him develop and successfully implement YMCA best practices to meet various types of community needs.

“My wife, Sara, and I instantly fell in love with Henderson within the first few hours of visiting. The charm and beauty of the downtown riverfront area are as warm and inviting as the people we had the opportunity to meet. It quickly became very clear that this was the place that we could envision living and a community we wanted to be a part of,” said Beasley. “The Y

has a rich history of outstanding leadership and success which have positioned the Y to become an integral part of community life in service to all people living in and around Henderson County. Many YMCAs across the country are still struggling in the wake of COVID-19 but your YMCA has recovered well and is still thriving despite continued challenges. As we look to the future, we will be looking for input and ideas from Y members, volunteer leaders, and the people of Henderson County to help us build a Strategic Plan.”

Beasley will begin the transition with staff and volunteers in the next few weeks, but will officially begin his new role in mid-June.
