Henderson City Commission Meets in Regular Session


HENDERSON, Ky. – At its regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday, June 14th, the Henderson City Commission finalized its Fiscal Year 2023 budget 
that has a 2.2 percent decrease from the previous year.



The budget appropriation totals $98.784 million, which includes $35.45 million for the General Fund, $26.7 million for the Natural Gas Fund and 
$9.066 million for the Construction Fund.



The overall decrease in the budget is a combination of a $6.4 million decrease in the Construction Fund, a $1.1 million increase in the General Fund 
and a $3.2 million increase in the Gas Fund.



The commission also finalized its approval of the Henderson Water Utility’s budget for Fiscal Year 2023 with projected revenues of $24.9 million and 
estimated operating expenses of $22.383 million.



The commission:

  *   Passed first readings amending the FY 2022 budget and appropriation ordinance and amending the job classifications and pay plan for FY2023.
  *   Approved a municipal order for a 3 percent cost-of-living-adjustment for city employees.
  *   Approved a deed and easement for a tract of land to Pratt Paper LLC and Big Rivers Electric Corporation for the construction of a substation.
  *   Approved a consent agenda with two sets of minutes, an agreement with Henderson Community College for security services, a resolution granting 
      property assessment moratorium at 104 N. Water St., authorization for an Airport Improvement Program grant application, renewal of organ transplant 
      coverage and TPA services and an amendment to the wellness section of the city’s group health plan.
  *   Heard a proclamation showcasing “World Changers Week” in Henderson this week. Youth volunteers from several states have been doing exterior repairs 
      and improvements at several work sites around the city.
  *   Presented a 25-year service award to Mark E. Simmons, Parks & Recreation Department.
The date for the next regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners is June 28, 3 p.m. It will take place in the third-floor Assembly Room of the 
Henderson Municipal Center.
