The (1-1) Henderson County Colonels faced off against the (1-1) Paducah Tilghman Blue Tornado at home at Colonel Gym.
In the first quarter, the Colonels would outscore the Blue Tornado 19-18 heading into the second quarter. In the second quarter, the Colonels would outscore the Blue Tornado 17-8, as the score at halftime was a 10 point lead for the Colonels with the score 36-26.
To begin the second half, the Blue Tornado would outscore the Colonels 20-12 in the third quarter, as heading into the fourth quarter the Colonels would have a 48-46 lead over the Blue Tornado. In the fourth quarter, the Blue Tornado would outscore the Colonels 17-11, as the Colonels would suffer their second loss of the season with the final score 63-59. The Colonels fall to (1-2) on the season while the Blue Tornado would improve to (2-1).
The leading scorer for the Colonels was senior guard Gerard Thomas with 18 points while shooting 2 for 4 from the free throw line and grabbing 6 rebounds on the night. Senior forward Jake Rideout with a career high 17 points and grabbed 9 rebounds while sophomore guard Cooper Davenport scored 13 points while shooting 5 for 6 from the free throw line. Sophomore guard Dwaine Moss tallied 4 points while sophomore guard Lacon McKinney added 3 points and 3 rebounds. To round out the scoring for the Colonels, junior guard Alec Satterfield and sophomore center Elijah Suggs tallied 2 points each on the night.
Blue Tornado senior forward Jayvion Powell had a team high 30 points on the night to go along with 6 rebounds while shooting 5 for 7 from the free throw line.
As a team, the Colonels shot 10 for 19 from the free throw line while shooting 3 for 14 from the three point line and grabbed 30 rebounds while committing 14 turnovers on the night.
The Colonels will take on the Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons on the road at Maroon Gym in Madisonville on Friday night, December 9th, with the tip-off at 7:30 P.M.
