New City of Henderson Mayor and City Commissioners to be sworn in Wednesday afternoon

HENDERSON, KY, December 21, 2022– Newly elected Mayor and Board of Commissioners for the City of
Henderson will be sworn in at a ceremony at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 21.
The commissioners, who were elected in November, are Austin Vowels, Rodney Thomas and Robert
Pruitt Jr. Their two-year term begins in January with their first meeting scheduled for Jan. 10.
Former three-term City Commissioner Brad Staton will be sworn in as Mayor of the City of Henderson.
He takes the place of retiring Mayor Steve Austin who held the role for twelve years.
The ceremony, available via Zoom and streaming on the City’s website, Facebook and Twitter, will take
place in the third-floor Assembly Room at the Henderson Municipal Center, 222 First St.
