Upcoming changes for use of Henderson Transfer Station

HENDERSON, KY, January 5, 2022– Beginning Wednesday, February 1, 2023, Henderson city and
county residents will be required to show proof of residency to continue using the Solid Waste
Transfer Station free of charge.
City and county residents will be required to show a current driver’s license with a Henderson County
address to continue using the Henderson Solid Waste Transfer Station free of charge. If their driver’s
license does not show a Henderson County address, residents will be required to show a City utility bill
or a Henderson County water bill.
The purpose behind the upcoming changes is to ensure Henderson City/County taxpayers are not
covering the cost of non-residents using the facilities free of charge.
There will be a $5.00 charge for anyone who visits the facility with an un-tarped or un-strapped load.
This is to help reduce the amount of litter along the roadway both on Wolf Hills Road and on HWY 41
and the southbound bridge.
For more information, please call David Steele, Sanitation Superintendent, at (270) 854-2064.
