Henderson Leadership Initiative to graduate its 13th class on Thursday

HENDERSON, Ky. — The latest group of emerging community leaders will graduate from the 13th class of the
Henderson Leadership Initiative at a commencement ceremony this Thursday, Jan. 19.

In addition to the commencement ceremony, the 17 members of the class will announce three community
improvement initiatives that they will be pursuing. The brainstorming of community projects has been a hallmark of HLI
since the program launched in 2007. The initiatives are intended to benefit Henderson as well as provide practical
experience in community leadership to the participants.

The ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Preston Arts Center on the Henderson Community College
campus. Hors d’oeuvres will be served afterward.

Members of the public, current HLI Fellows and community leaders are invited and encouraged to attend the
ceremony. Seating will be in the Preston Arts Center auditorium. The ceremony is sponsored by Field & Main.

“With this upcoming graduation, HLI will have prepared 240 Fellows for community leadership, and providing
leadership is exactly what they are doing,” Scott Davis, an HLI co-founder who chairs the organization’s board, said.

“HLI Fellows are leading local companies, guiding nonprofit organizations in both staff and board positions, serving in
public office and helping make Henderson a greater place. They are doing exactly what we hoped they would do when we
founded HLI,” he added.
