CALHOUN, Ky. (February 09, 2023) –Kentucky State Police troopers are conducting a death investigation after reports of a shot male at the residence of 375 West Second Street in Calhoun. Kentucky State Police troopers said they received the call around 3:20 a.m. Thursday.
Troopers responded to the residence and located 20-year-old Steven G. Powell of Calhoun with an apparent gunshot wound to his abdomen. Powell was transported by McLean County Emergency Medical Services to Owensboro Health where he later died.
Powell has been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Madisonville for an autopsy, which was scheduled for Friday. The cause of death is under investigation.
