Gov. Beshear awards money to Henderson nonprofits


Gov. Andy Beshear stopped by Henderson’s Gallery 101 on Wednesday evening to present more than $4 million for investments in the Henderson community.

Beshear presented a check for $150,000 to the Henderson County Tourism Commission and a $100,000 check to the Western Kentucky Brewery Hop Trail. The governor also presented checks to the City of Corydon, the Henderson County Water District, and the City of Henderson Water Utility as part of the state’s cleaner water programs.

The governor also presented a $1.2 million check to many nonprofits who serve Henderson County. Local nonprofits that will receive a share of the $1.2 million in funding including the Hugh Edward Sandefur Training Center, Henderson County YMCA, Habitat for Humanity of Henderson County, Audubon Kids Zone, Salvation Army, Healing Reins, the Volunteer and Information Center, the Gathering Place, St. Anthony’s Hospice, United Way of Henderson County, Redbanks Regency Apartments, Experiencing Autism Together, the Henderson County Humane Society, Holy Name School and Holy Name Parish, St. Augustine Parish in Reed, and Henderson County Healthcare Corporation.
