Henderson City Commission approves first reading of electric rate adjustment


HENDERSON, Ky. – The City of Henderson Board of Commissioners held their regularly scheduled
meeting Tuesday afternoon.

A proclamation was made by Mayor Brad Staton in celebration of the upcoming Arbor Day. The April
28th event will be held at the Atkinson Park BBQ pits and will include tree plantings and the recognition
of the coloring and essay contest winners. It will begin at 4 p.m.

Two public hearings were held for the electric rate adjustment and for appeals to outside agency funding.

The Board of Commissioners also:

-Approved a consent agenda with minutes from the April 11th regular meeting
-Heard a resolution amending resolution 19-23 relating to bond reimbursement
-Approved a municipal order awarding the bid for Henderson Police Department uniforms and
accessories
-Heard the first reading of an ordinance adopting electric rate and services schedules
-Heard the first reading of an ordinance amending Chapter 7- Buildings and Building Regulations
-Heard a municipal order awarding the renewal of an organ transplant policy
-Heard a municipal order authorizing the lease with the Imperial Real Properties, LLC for Imperial Center
parking lot
-The City Manager’s report included an update from the Henderson Police Department and details on an
investment agreement with PNC Bank
-The City Attorney’s report included a proposed sanitation ordinance review and the first reading of the
ordinance amending Chapter 14 relating to sanitation collection

The date for the next regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners is at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 9. It will take place in the third-floor assembly room of the Henderson Municipal Center.
