HENDERSON, KY, June 13, 2023– Henderson has a new fire chief – Josh Dixon, a 16-year veteran of the Henderson Fire Department.
The City of Henderson Board of Commissioners appointed Dixon as new fire chief during a scheduled board meeting Tuesday afternoon.
“Chief Dixon has the experience, demeanor, and the determination that will allow him to do a tremendous job from day one. I’m proud the hiring committee had so many great leaders to choose from, and I couldn’t be more excited for the fire department and for the community because of the decision they have made,” said Mayor Brad Staton about Dixon’s appointment.
Dixon began his career at the Henderson Fire Department on July 16, 2007. He was promoted to engineer in August 2011 and then to lieutenant in February 2016. Dixon was promoted to division chief in
December 2020.
A native of Henderson, he graduated from Henderson County High School and Henderson Community College. Dixon and his wife, Missy, have five children and two grandchildren.
