A Fall Classic Returns to Audubon Park

Just as the beautiful fall weather begins to move into the tri-state, the Lions Arts and Crafts Festival at Audubon State Park kicks off in early October.

This year’s festival, organized by the Henderson Lions Club, is set for Saturday and Sunday, October 7th and 8th from 10:00am to 4:00pm each day. Once again, the only admission will be $5 to park your car.

More than 100 arts and crafts vendors are expected at this years’ festival, displaying and selling hand-made items. You’ll find woodwork, quilts, jewelry, paintings, hand-made toys, soaps and candles, leather goods and metal work, just to name a few. It’s also a great place to find, fall, Halloween and Christmas decorations. And if you’re hungry, food booths will be selling everything from hot dogs to chicken, pork burgers to corn dogs and pop corn to funnel cakes.

About 5,000 to 6,000 people attended the festival last year. This will be the 8th time the Henderson Lions have put on the festival, that has been around in some form since the 1970’s. Money raised stays in Henderson and supports eye conservation, including eyeglasses and eye surgeries for those who cannot afford them, eye screening of 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th graders in Henderson Schools, scholarships for local high school seniors and grants for local non-profit organizations.

Booth rentals for craft vendors is $125. Food vendors pay $175. Registration forms for vendors can be found at hendersonlions.org or the Henderson Lions Facebook page. Checks should be made payable to the Henderson Lions Club.

Registration forms and checks may be sent to Henderson Lions, P/O. Box 842, Henderson, Kentucky, 42420.
