Two local men arrested on drug trafficking charges


Police have arrested a pair of men on drug trafficking charges.

The Henderson County Joint Task Force and Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement executed a search warrant on Wednesday in the North Adams Street block in Henderson.

Police said a search of the residence resulted in finding approximately three pounds of marijuana, more than a pound of magic mushrooms, ecstasy pills, one handgun, and evidence indicative of trafficking in controlled substances. In the home at the time were Tyrone Williams, 41, and Stanley Ward, 37, and two children under the age of four.

Williams was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana, trafficking in a first-degree controlled substance, possession of a first-degree controlled substance, trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and endangering the welfare of a minor. Police said that Williams has more than 10 previous felony convictions, with a criminal history spanning four states.

Ward was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana, trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia, and endangering the welfare of a minor. Police said Ward was found to have seven previous convictions, with a criminal history spanning five states. He was also arrested for an outstanding bench warrant out of Henderson County.
