Wilma Minton Evans
Wilma Evans, age 91, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 8:19 a.m. Saturday September 2, 2023, at her home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice.
Wilma was a woman who loved the Lord and was a lifetime member of Bennett Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a talented seamstress, crafter, and an avid coloring book enthusiast. Wilma was the matriarch of her family, and she poured out love abundantly.
In addition to her parents, Carl and Christine Minton, Wilma was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years William “Bill” Curtis Evans and her brother Carl Minton, Jr.
Wilma is survived by her daughters Carla Taylor and Sandy Proctor(David) both of Henderson,KY; identical twin sister Norma Smith of Waterford, MI; grandchildren: Carlene Williams of Henderson, KY, Eric Evans of Louisville, KY, and Matthew Taylor of Henderson, KY; 5 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Wilma’s Life Celebration from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 4, 2023, and again on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with Reverend John Brumfiel officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.

Connie Benally
Connie Benally, age 64, passed away at her home in Henderson, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Gower and Ethel Dugan, and a great nephew Scott A. Moseley and is survived by her siblings: Glenda Black (Tim), Amy Amos, and Wayne “JR” Gower; as well as nieces Christie and Abbie Black.
Connie graduated from Murray State University with her bachelor’s degree. She was a talented artist; both as a painter and a singer as well. Connie was an avid consumer of Native American culture. She made her home in New Mexico where she had a full and happy life.
The family is hosting Connie’s memorial service and inurnment at Old Cedar Grove Cemetery in Tilden, KY, Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Brother Gary Chapman will officiate. Arrangements entrusted to Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home

Iris Marie Hopson
Iris Marie Hopson, age 92, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 4:24 p.m. Friday September 1, 2023, at Lucy Smith King Care Center under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice and surrounded by the love of her family.
In 1947, Iris married Richard Hopson and they established a Christian home together with their three children that would last over 72 years. After a lifetime of serving the Lord with impeccable character, Iris was the longest living member of her church, Apostolic Bread of Life. She was a hard-working woman who retired from Cyanide Plastics after many years of loyal service. Iris was many things to many people, but her role as the matriarch of her family was her greatest triumph. As mother and mamaw, Iris always had a delicious meal ready to nourish, a soft lap to cuddle on, a strong shoulder to lean on, and wise counsel to offer. Her family was blessed, abundantly so, to have her on this side of Heaven.
In addition to her parents, Herbert and Harpie Hatfield, Iris was preceded in death by her husband Richard Lee Hopson and siblings: Ruth Nobles, James H. Hatfield, and Reverend Joseph Hatfield.
Iris is survived by daughter Renee Mackey and husband Denny of Robards, KY; sons Roger Hopson and his wife Amy and Randy Hopson and his wife Angie all of Henderson, KY; sisters Ramona Stratford of Georgia and Frieda Birchfield of Tennessee; grandchildren: Elizabeth Hutcheison, Andrew Hopson, Elijah Mackey, Jenny Mackey, Dan Mackey, Ryan Hopson, Katie Bilskie, and Mindy Jones; 13 great grandchildren: Gabriel, Cooper, Eli, Amelia, Autumn, Kingston, Maddy, Addison, Avery, Carter, Kadence, Reagan and Elsie; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Iris’s Life Celebration from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 6, and again on Thursday starting at 10:00 a.m. at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Reverend Vernon Rigsby officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.
