Henderson man pleads guilty in connection with two overdose deaths


A Henderson man has pleaded guilty to two counts of distributing fentanyl, resulting in two deaths.

According to court documents, Elijah Lovell, 20, of Henderson pleaded guilty to two counts of distributing fentanyl resulting in death. Between Dec. 27, 2021, and Jan. 31, 2022, Lovell distributed fentanyl that resulted in the death of another person.

Additionally, on or about May 5, 2022, Lovell distributed fentanyl that resulted in the death of a second person.

Lovell is scheduled to be sentenced on April 17. He faces a minimum sentence of 20 years and a maximum sentence of life in prison.

A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors, according to a news release.

There is no parole in the federal system.

The Henderson Police Department and Henderson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Frank Dahl is prosecuting the case.
