Section of Second Street sidewalk closure begins next week

Officials plan to close a section of a Second Street sidewalk beginning next week.

Starting Monday, Feb. 5, the sidewalk on the south side of Second Street in front of Palmer’s Market and across from North Middle School, will be closed.

Students walking between Henderson County High School and North Middle School must cross the street at the I-69 exit ramp traffic light and walk on the sidewalk located on the north side of the street, said Henderson County Schools Spokeswoman Megan Mortis.

Students may then cross back over at the Klutey Park Plaza traffic light. Students walking to or from North Middle School must cross at the Klutey Park Plaza traffic light, which is near the Walgreen’s.
