Vicki Blanford Thorp, age 63, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 4:28 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN.
Vicki was the youngest of 14 children. She was born to Tom and Opal Blanford. As a girl, she loved ponies and being spoiled as the baby of a big family. That big family was also a close one. Vicki enjoyed family gatherings of all kinds throughout the years. Vicki was crazy about her family and treasured her roles as wife, mother, and ultimately her favorite rose as “Nanny”.
Vicki was preceded in death by her parents Tom and Opal Blanford, brothers Tim Blanford and Tommy Blanford, and her first husband Jim Roach.
Vicki is survived by her husband of 16 years Ronald Thorp; daughters Amanda Brown and Jayma O’Nan; step-daughters: Kim Price (Kevin), Cassie Tanner (Ronald Purgeason) and Donna Higginson; brothers: David Blanford (Carolyn), Bobby Blanford (Susie), Sam Blanford (Brenda), Steve Blanford, Jimmy Blanford (Sheila), Eddie Blanford (Teresa), Phillip Blanford (Phyllis), and Mark Blanford (Cecilia); sisters: Mary Lois McGraw, Brenda Thomas (Andy), and Dianne Blanford (Andy Cox); sisters-in-law Connie Blanford and Cathy Blanford (Roger Robertson); grandchildren: Jace Avery (Angel Reed), Mason Brown, and Gage Whitledge; great-granddaughter JacklynnAvery; special lifetime friend Laveta Daniels (Chris); and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to Vicki’s Life Celebration from 11:00 a.m. until the service time on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Louis Cemetery in Henderson, KY.
