Henderson issues boil water advisory along Main Street

The City of Henderson has issued a boil water advisory for customers residing between 6th and 12th Streets along Main Street, 10th and 11th Streets from Main Street to Elm Street, and 8th Street from Main to Craig.

This advisory is a necessary response to the work performed on Tuesday to repair a water main leak, and it’s important that all residents are aware and take necessary precautions

During this advisory, it is advised to boil tap water or use bottled water for activities such as drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes.

To properly boil your water, run your faucets with cold water for at least three minutes, then fill a pot and bring the water to a rolling boil for five minutes before allowing it to cool. It is recommended to continue boiling or using bottled water until the advisory is lifted.

If you notice any discoloration in your water, run your faucets until the water runs clear. The boil water advisory will remain in effect until the water line repairs are completed and the water meets quality standards after testing. For any inquiries, please contact the city at 270-826-2824.
